I Love Cozy Games

gaming +523 -0

I love playing cozy games. Most of these games are simple enough to not require much thought. Which is exactly what I like to play a lot of the time. Two games that I’ve put the most amount of time into are Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Stardew Valley.

I started Animal Crossing long before I started Stardew Valley. I don’t do too much island customization. I’ve seen some islands that look like they have been customized 100%. For the most part, mine is meant to look like a natural island in the woods. More like a campground than anything else.

I do have a variety of fruit trees planted everywhere. I spend a lot of time going around my island fishing trying to catch every fish in the game. I have many of them in aquariums in my house, a legit fish room. I also spend a lot of time going out in the water and diving to catch sea creatures. This is just mindless fun that I can do without putting much thought into it.

Now that I am playing Stardew Valley. I do try to progress in the game but I’m not doing so at a super quick pace. I don’t have any crops growing except in the greenhouse. I do have several barns with animals that I take care of. Again, something I can do without much thought. Just a relaxing game.

A few other games I have played through and completed include Spilled. This is an excellent game. You captain a ship around and clean up trash, oil spills, and put out damp fires. The artwork in this game once everything is cleaned up is incredible. This is another example of a mindless game that you can complete in about an hour.

Lake is another one that I enjoyed quite a bit. I recommend it all the time to people asking about games that have no stress. This game you move to a lake town set in the 1980s and you drive a mail truck around delivering mail and interact with the people in town. This one can change depending on the choices you make so it has replayability as well. It also has a Christmas DLC, that I am waiting until Christmas time to start.

There are a bunch of other games in this genre that I have but haven’t started yet. But this is primarily the type of games that I like to play. Relaxing games and racing would be the other big one. When you combine driving and cozy games, you can understand why I like Lake so much.

I don’t get to play as many games as I would like now that I am a father but when I do get to play, I like simple cozy games more than most.

I have Graveyard Keeper, which I am going to start playing soon. If I like it as much as some of the games I’ve mentioned here, I will probably write about it at some point.

Until then, I’m going to keep playing when I can.

Thank you for reading.

Until next time
